The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Azul does no damage.
Azul throws a series of punches but Mejia avoids them all with ease.
Mejia throws a sloppy head kick and Azul moves out of range easily.
Azul stuffs the takedown attempt from Mejia. Mejia gets slowly back to his feet.

Mejia clinches up against the cage.
Mejia is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Azul pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Mejia jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Azul walks away with a smile on his face. Mejia gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sanford Mejia. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Azul sends Mejia crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Azul is motioning to the referee to let Mejia up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

It looks like Sanford Mejia has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Azul jabs Mejia to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Mejia is breathing heavily.
Azul lands with a big right hook that stumbles Mejia - he's out on his feet here! Azul follows up with another monster hook that separates Mejia from consciousness! Mejia falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Azul stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
