Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Baxter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Major Lazer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lazer has chosen Major Lazer - Pon De Floor as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryan Baxter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Major Lazer!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baxter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baxter wants it to stay on the feet.
Lazer keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Lazer shoots in looking for a takedown but Baxter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lazer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lazer shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Lazer trying to advance position but Baxter counters by regaining guard.
Lazer stays in close to Baxter's body and controls the position.
Lazer postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Lazer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Baxter is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lazer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lazer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Baxter keeping moving, preventing Lazer from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Major Lazer was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Baxter misses with a few strikes there.
Baxter moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Baxter gets caught napping as Lazer dives in and scores a takedown. Baxter manages to retain guard.
Lazer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Lazer pushing down on Baxter's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Lazer is looking to advance position but Baxter won't allow it.
Lazer missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Baxter is looking for a sweep. Lazer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lazer throws a strike but Baxter avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Baxter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Baxter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lazer on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lazer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lazer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Baxter managing to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ryan Baxter wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Lazer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lazer staying calm.
Lazer tries to move into full mount but can't pass Baxter's legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lazer in side control lands a decent elbow.
Lazer working the body and head with strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lazer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Baxter, who protects the arm well.
Lazer tries to advance to mount but Baxter denies him.
Lazer creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lazer throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Lazer lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Baxter down.

Lazer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Major Lazer dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Lazer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Baxter pinned against the cage. Baxter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lazer gets tackled into the cage by Baxter. Baxter maintains the clinch.
Baxter gets underhooks to prevent Lazer's takedown attempt.
Lazer is looking to take this one to the mat.
Ryan Baxter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Major Lazer.
Lazer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
I was talking to Baxter's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Baxter.
Lazer changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Baxter fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Baxter tries to bum rush Lazer with a series of wild strikes but Lazer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Baxter throws a right hand that Lazer ducks under and follows up with a left that Lazer also avoids with ease.
Lazer shoots in for a double leg but Baxter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lazer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Baxter swivels and escapes.

Baxter throws the kick towards the body but Lazer avoids it.
Lazer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Baxter but Baxter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Baxter throws a right and a left that Lazer avoids nicely.
Baxter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lazer.
Baxter lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lazer at a distance.

Lazer has Baxter pressed against the cage, preventing Baxter from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Lazer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Baxter prevents it.
Baxter pushes Lazer back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Lazer is looking for a takedown.

Baxter breaks the clinch.

Baxter rushes Lazer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lazer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Baxter pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lazer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lazer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Baxter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lazer somewhat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Baxter clinches up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Baxter throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lazer blocks it with crossed arms.
Baxter creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Lazer's defenses.
Lazer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lazer wants a takedown.
Lazer tries for a takedown but Baxter manages to get underhooks.
Baxter lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lazer backwards.
Baxter scores with a shoulder strike.
Lazer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Baxter gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Baxter breaks the clinch.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Baxter knocks Lazer out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ryan Baxter!
Ryan Baxter decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
