We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baroni swinging wildly here.
Mars shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Baroni as he avoids it easily.
Mars fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Baroni throws a right hand that Mars ducks under and follows up with a left that Mars also avoids with ease.
Baroni throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mars.

Mars looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mars is keen to just control but Baroni is a slippery customer.
Mars wants to stand but Baroni has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Mars seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Baroni does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bruno Mars.
Mars is trying hard to land a takedown here. Baroni sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Joe Baroni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Mars.
Mars closes the distance and clinches up with Baroni, looking for a takedown. Mars pushes Baroni against the cage but Baroni circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
