Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Royal Osborn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Schulze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royal Osborn has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Royal Osborn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Schulze!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schulze shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Osborn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Schulze is working away from the top position though.
Schulze content to control rather than advance.
Schulze thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Osborn's head.

Schulze stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Osborn to get to his feet.

Osborn closes the distance and clinches up with Schulze, looking for a takedown. Osborn pushes Schulze against the cage but Schulze circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Schulze drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Schulze working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Osborn really is a fat lump.

Schulze decides to stand back up.
Osborn will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Osborn is squirming around, avoiding Schulze's attempts to control the action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schulze content just to control the position here.
Osborn throwing hammer fists to the chest of Schulze. What's that going to do exactly?
Osborn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Osborn avoids the head kick by Schulze.

Schulze throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Osborn tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Schulze is in Osborn's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Schulze tries to free his leg and advance position but Osborn is retaining full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. James Schulze wasn't active enough on the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Osborn is not content to let Schulze control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Osborn darts in looking for a takedown but Schulze gets double underhooks and turns Osborn into the cage.
Osborn tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Schulze smiles and moves away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schulze is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Schulze decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Osborn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schulze as he jumps to the side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Osborn wants to stand up but Schulze is controlling the position.
Osborn prevents Schulze from improving his position.
Schulze moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

James Schulze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Schulze throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Osborn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Osborn trying to keep a closed guard but Schulze is proving a slippery customer.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Schulze takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Schulze stops Osborn from getting back to his feet.
Schulze passes the guard and advances to mount!

Schulze is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Osborn is surviving well by controlling Schulze's body position as best he can.

Schulze manages to capitalize on a mistake by Osborn to take his back!
Schulze has the hooks in. Osborn is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Schulze tries to keep control of the position but Osborn is staying busy.

Osborn looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Schulze is punishing Osborn with some ground and pound.
Osborn covering up well under a series of strikes from Schulze.
Schulze trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
