Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dudley Beever (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Moraes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beever comes into the arena with Surprise! blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dudley Beever!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergio Moraes!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moraes rushes Beever and presses him up against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Moraes.
Beever struggles to land a body shot inside as Moraes controls his hands.
Moraes lands an elbow just above Beever 's eye.
Beever missing with knees to the body.

Moraes has Beever pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Moraes pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Beever tumbling to the mat - Moraes dives into Beever's guard.
Beever being controlled here, momentarily.
Beever is wriggling around but Moraes manages to pass to half guard.
Well, if Moraes is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Let's hope that Moraes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Beever is looking for a sweep. Moraes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Moraes passes the guard and advances to mount!

Moraes jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Beever is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Beever and Moraes has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Beever has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Beever knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moraes on the ground.

Moraes looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Moraes takes a little break here. Beever wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Moraes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beever is not content to let Moraes control the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Moraes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Beever has escaped the position, nice work there.

Moraes looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Moraes controls the position from side control.
Moraes trying to control the action but Beever is working from the bottom.

Moraes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Moraes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Moraes controlling from side mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beever gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Moraes wants to control the pace but Beever is squirming around nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sergio Moraes dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Moraes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Beever is not content to let Moraes control the position.
Moraes moves nicely into side control.
Moraes wants to control but Beever is keeping him busy.
Moraes works to advance to full mount. Beever defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Moraes is working for a guillotine from mount but Beever frees his head quite easily.
Beever has given up his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Moraes's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Beever tries to roll but Moraes sticks to his back.

Moraes is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Beever has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Moraes has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Beever taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Moraes doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sergio Moraes!
A very excited looking Sergio Moraes made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
In defeat, Dudley Beever stepped up to the mic, saying 'Damit... I thought we have it... Good fight! This time you got me, but next is on me!'.
