Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bates has chosen Limp Bizkit - Ready To Go ft. Lil Wayne as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Bates walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Karl Bates has been cut.
Silva connects with a body shot that sends Bates's belly button to the back.
Bates misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Bates looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.
Silva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Silva digs a good body shot into Bates's ribs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silva connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bates. Bates circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Bates throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Bates fails with a takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bates.
Marcelo Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Bates.

Silva steps in with a hook that catches Bates right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Silva follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Bates looks absolutely devastated.
