PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Isamu Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rebel Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed - Enough. Isamu Li looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rebel Lynch!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lynch connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Lynch trying to keep a closed guard but Li is proving a slippery customer.

Lynch has his feet on Li's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Lynch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lynch tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Li changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lynch tries to avoid it but Li manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lynch to the ground. Lynch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lynch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Li. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lynch manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Li keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Li could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Li avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lynch displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Li.
Lynch is looking to clinch but Li is avoiding it.

Rebel Lynch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Li throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lynch's waist but Lynch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Li off to one side.
Lynch will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Li shoots in but no luck this time.
Lynch throws a head kick but Li moves out of range.
Li avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lynch fails to land with a series of punches.

Lynch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Li bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lynch is trying to improve his position.
Lynch is letting Li control him for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Li has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rebel Lynch dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Isamu Li's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Li drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Li lands some shots froms side control.
Lynch is trying to get back to half guard.

Li decides to stand back up.
Lynch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Li swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lynch feints and then cracks Li's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Li down.

Li manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lynch on his heels. He'll look to pass Lynch's guard now, I'm sure.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Li manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Li pushes Lynch off and scrambles back to his feet.
Lynch rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Li moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Li drives through and clinches with Lynch against the cage.
Li changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lynch fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Isamu Li is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Li shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Li was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Li has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Li's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lynch's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Lynch is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Li locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Lynch is forced to tap!
