The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helix checks a low kick from Nicoletti.
Helix tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Helix closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nicoletti did well to prevent Helix getting side control.
Nicoletti is trying to get back to full guard.
Helix wants to pass to mount but Nicoletti is defending the position.

Helix has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Helix has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nicoletti can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Oh but Helix is tightening it up a little... Nicoletti has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
