Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Falcon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Monsoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adam Falcon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Monsoon!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ron Honeybunn and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monsoon closes the distance and clinches up with Falcon, looking for a takedown. Monsoon pushes Falcon against the cage but Falcon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Monsoon shoots and misses
and Falcon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Falcon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Monsoon's head backwards.
Falcon leaves Monsoon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Adam Falcon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Monsoon.

Falcon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Monsoon.
Monsoon takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Monsoon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Falcon.
Monsoon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Falcon but Falcon pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Falcon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Monsoon did well to prevent Falcon getting side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are battling for position here. Monsoon manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Monsoon seems keen to control Falcon's posture.

Monsoon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Falcon's guard.

Falcon wants to stand and escape but Monsoon is having none of it.
Falcon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jack Monsoon.
Monsoon fails with the takedown
and Falcon counters with a nice body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Monsoon.
Monsoon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Falcon as he jumps to the side.
Monsoon moves away from the strike by Falcon.
Adam Falcon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monsoon gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Monsoon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Falcon tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Monsoon is in Falcon's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Monsoon wants to control from the top but Falcon keeps moving.
Falcon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Falcon is working hard here to advance position.
Falcon is looking to stand up but Monsoon isn't so interested in that idea.
Falcon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Monsoon wants to control from the top but Falcon keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Monsoon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Monsoon shoots in looking for a takedown. Falcon tries to sprawl out of it but Monsoon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Falcon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Monsoon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Falcon was covering up waiting for the punch and Monsoon finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Falcon is trying to control but can't.

Monsoon works his way into side control.
Monsoon controls the position from side control.
You can see the frustration on Falcon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Monsoon cracks Falcon with a big elbow.
Falcon wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Monsoon will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Monsoon tries for a takedown but Falcon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Monsoon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Falcon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Monsoon somewhat.
Falcon misses with an uppercut.
Left hook, right uppercut from Falcon.


It looks like Jack Monsoon has been cut.

Falcon gets caught flat footed, as Monsoon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Monsoon stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Falcon throws an elbow that misses. Monsoon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Falcon's guard. Nice move by Monsoon!

Monsoon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Monsoon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Falcon gets to his feet - Monsoon follows without any prompting.
Falcon stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Adam Falcon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Monsoon.

Monsoon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Falcon's waist but Falcon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Monsoon off to one side.

Monsoon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Falcon connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Monsoon scrambles back to his feet.
Monsoon takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Falcon lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Falcon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Falcon lands a nice shot that snaps Monsoon's head back.

Monsoon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Falcon's guard.
Monsoon is breathing heavily.
Monsoon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Falcon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Falcon is not content to let Monsoon control the position.

Falcon takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Falcon is looking to reverse the position.
Falcon is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Monsoon's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Monsoon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Falcon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Falcon is positioning himself well to prevent Monsoon advancing to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monsoon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Falcon misses with a two punch combination.

Falcon swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Falcon. Monsoon does a little dance to reset his feet.

Falcon closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Monsoon quickly recovers to half guard.
Monsoon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Falcon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Falcon's back!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Monsoon is trying to stick to Falcon's back but Falcon is turning into Monsoon. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Monsoon's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Falcon.

Monsoon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Monsoon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Falcon scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Monsoon gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Falcon swings for the body but Monsoon moves out of range.

A very excited looking Adam Falcon rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
