PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Vegata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi comes into the arena with Slaap lekker! blaring out of the sound system. Antonio Vegata is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenny Gomi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Vegata!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vegata takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Vegata throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gomi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vegata is in Gomi's guard.

Vegata got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gomi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vegata has managed to get both his arms back between Gomi's legs - danger averted.

Gomi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Antonio Vegata has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gomi is defended easily by Vegata.
Gomi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Well Vegata has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
