The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
August throws an overhand right that lands on Diaz's shoulder, as Diaz tries to avoid the shot.
Aiden August seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
August takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

August ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

August displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Diaz throws out the jab.

August feints and as Diaz raises his hands in defense, August changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

August has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Diaz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! August is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Diaz pulls down on the head and he's put August to sleep! This one is all over!
