Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luke Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Les Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lashley's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hustlin. The crowd seem to be enjoying Paul's choice of entrance music: Hell & Back. Luke Lashley had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Lashley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 1, fighting out of New York, Les Paul!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lashley is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at 11th Planet Fitness ($350/wk), so we'll see if he gets out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paul stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Paul pushes Lashley off and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Paul decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lashley's guard.

Paul drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lashley looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lashley looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lashley!
You can see the frustration on Paul's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lashley stands up and beckons Paul to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Luke Lashley will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Les Paul was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Paul changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lashley fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Paul jumps guard but Lashley stands there with Paul around his waist. Paul gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
