Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Hale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hayato Furingi!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Hale misses
enabling Furingi to counter with a crisp jab.
Hale fails with a takedown attempt.

Furingi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Furingi wants to get up but he can't break Hale's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hale pulls Furingi in close to prevent any damage.
Furingi throws an elbow that misses. Hale uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Furingi's guard. Nice move by Hale!
Furingi pulls Hale in close to prevent any damage.
Hale won't allow Furingi to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hale slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hale seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Furingi for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Michael Hale just wasn't active enough.

Furingi moves into the clinch.
Hale really is a fat lump.
Hale letting Furingi take a breather here.
Furingi tries to work over Hale's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Furingi tries to land a knee to the head but Hale blocks with his arms.

Furingi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Furingi fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hale throws a lazy uppercut
and Furingi counters with a body kick that stops Hale in his tracks momentarily.
Hale is breathing heavily.
Furingi misses with a double jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Furingi looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Furingi thuds his shin into the meat of Hale's side.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Furingi tries a head kick but it misses.
Hale throws a jab when Furingi was well out of range.
Hayato Furingi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Furingi lands a head kick. Hale smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Michael Hale has been cut.

Furingi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Furingi breaks the clinch.

Furingi clinches up against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Furingi takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Hale is trying to pull guard but Furingi turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Furingi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hale looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Furingi scores with a hook to the body. Hale takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Furingi shoots in and gets a takedown into Hale's guard.
Furingi wants to pass the guard but Hale is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Furingi looking to sit in guard and control but Hale gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Furingi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hale. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hale stays in close to Furingi's body and controls the position.
Furingi wants to stand up but Hale is controlling him.
Hale controls from within his opponent's guard.
Furingi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Michael Hale just wasn't active enough.
Furingi tries to clinch up but Hale circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Furingi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hale to the mat! Hale manages to get full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Furingi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hayato Furingi dominated that round.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Hale avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Furingi closes the distance and clinches.
Hale wants to break free but Furingi has control.
Furingi is struggling to control the position.
Hale looking to stall.
Hale lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Furingi breaks from the clinch.
Furingi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Furingi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hale swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hale on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Furingi. Furingi obviously looking to wear him down.
Furingi lands with a nice combination. Hale backs away looking to recover.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Furingi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Furingi circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Hale drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Furingi follows Hale to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hayato Furingi!
