Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kraig Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shelton David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shelton David is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

David darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Benton is trying to stand back up but David is controlling him

Benton stands up out of David's guard for a moment - David manages to land a nice upkick.

Benton slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from David.
David lands with a few short shots to the body.

David throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Benton manages to pass to side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Benton takes advantage of some sloppy striking from David to pass into mount.

Benton has control of David's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and David regains control of the situation pretty easily.
David is trying to reverse the position but instead Benton has taken his back - oops!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Benton has the hooks in. David is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

David has hold of Benton's leg, trying to break free but it's let Benton lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! David is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Benton throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.
