PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Cuban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Washington comes into the arena with Big Pun feat.Fat Joe-Twinz (Deep Cover) blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cuban rushes Washington and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cuban jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Washington walks away with a smile on his face. Cuban gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Cuban moves into the clinch.

Cuban has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Washington clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Washington tries to roll but Cuban sticks to his back.
Washington is keeping busy.

Washington is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cuban gets his way!

Washington gets caught napping as Cuban dives in and scores a takedown. Washington manages to retain guard.
Cuban is fighting to break Washington's control of his arms but Washington is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Cuban drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Washington dives on top into guard.

Cuban felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
