The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daxter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Peterson on the side of the head.

It looks like Dylan Peterson has been cut.

Peterson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daxter is trying to stand up here but Peterson is controlling him well.
Peterson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Daxter pushes Peterson off looking to stand but Peterson dives back in and keeps control.

Peterson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Daxter has managed to free his arm - good work.

Peterson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Daxter sees it coming and defends easily.

Peterson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Daxter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Peterson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Peterson decides to stand up.

Daxter darts in and clinches Peterson up against the cage.
Peterson tries to pull guard but Daxter forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Daxter manages to break the clinch.
Peterson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Daxter throws a head kick that half lands.

Daxter has closed the distance and engaged Peterson in a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Daxter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Peterson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Daxter pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Daxter drives through and clinches with Peterson against the cage.
Daxter prevents the takedown attempt.

Daxter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Peterson looks for a takedown but Daxter sprawls well.

Daxter instigates a clinch.
Peterson tries to score a body lock takedown but Daxter shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Peterson is trying to pull guard but Daxter has him pressed against the cage.

Daxter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A left lands for Daxter.
Daxter feints a jab and as Peterson dips his head, Daxter unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Peterson right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Peterson falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Daxter smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
