The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hendricks tries to keep at a distance but Barton has taken the fight into the clinch.
Barton putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Hendricks in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Barton is trying to drag Hendricks to the mat but Hendricks just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hendricks lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hendricks connects with a nice short shot to Barton's temple.
Hendricks is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barton wants to get back to his feet.
Hendricks lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Barton is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hendricks scores with a couple of nice shots.

Hendricks looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Hendricks working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hendricks looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barton with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hendricks works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hendricks is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Barton can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Hendricks lands a nice shot to the head.
