Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Norman Stitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Norman Stitt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Smith!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stitt throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Smith throws a series of strikes that have Stitt backpedaling.

Stitt clinches.
Smith tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stitt smiles and moves away.
Smith doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Stitt counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Stitt.

Smith has his foot on Stitt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stitt works his way back into a safe position though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stitt stays in close to Smith's body and controls the position.

Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stitt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stitt manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stitt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Stitt works over Smith with some ground and pound from guard.

Smith is looking for a triangle here but Stitt uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Smith is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stitt pulls his head out easily.
Stitt wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy.

Stitt decides to stand up.
Smith throws a combination. Stitt tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Stitt is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Smith's half guard.

Stitt is keen to just control but Smith is a slippery customer.
Stitt is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Smith is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Stitt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Stitt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Smith doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Stitt counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Smith has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Stitt escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Stitt!

Stitt working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Stitt wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy.
Smith is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Stitt is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Stitt lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stitt cracks Smith with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Stitt prevents Smith from getting the reversal.
Stitt lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Stitt lands a big shot there that rocks Smith but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Stitt! Smith is hurt baaadly! Stitt is firing away with more strikes - Smith is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Norman Stitt!
