Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boros Monet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Karl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Monet might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Downstait - Open Your Eyes. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Boros Monet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Karl!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monet lands with a right hand.
Monet scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Karl rushes Monet and presses him up against the cage.
Monet has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Karl is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A frustrated look appears on Monet's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Karl is trying to pull guard but Monet has him pressed against the cage.
Monet wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Karl wants to take the fight to the mat but Monet manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Boros Monet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Karl.
Monet tries to break free but Karl pushes him back against the cage.
Karl fails to pull guard.

Karl has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Monet uses from the top position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Karl is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Monet defends well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Karl is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Karl is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Karl is on top in guard.
Karl slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Karl drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Karl jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Karl is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
The fight stays on the outside here - Monet looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Horrible takedown by Karl or perhaps it was just good defense by Monet which made him look bad.
A head kick misses from Monet.
Monet wants to clinch up but Karl keeps it at a distance.
Monet tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Karl manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Monet is looking to clinch but Karl is avoiding it.
Monet is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Karl circles away from the clinch attempt.
Monet wants to clinch.

Karl rushes Monet and presses him up against the cage.
Monet swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Monet can't break the clinch.
Karl fails to pull guard.

Karl jumps into guard, dragging Monet to the mat.
Our spies down at at Impact Fight Centre inform us that Karl has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Monet knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karl on the ground.

Karl pushes a forearm under Monet's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Monet is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jimmy Karl!
Jimmy Karl decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
