Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alfonzo Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bo Song (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alfonzo Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, bo Song!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Song tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carver swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Song takes the fight into the clinch.

Song drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Song controls Carver momentarily but Carver frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carver trying to control the position from guard on top but Song is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Carver got a little sloppy there for a moment and Song has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carver has managed to get both his arms back between Song's legs - danger averted.
Song preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Carver might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Carver makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Carver could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Carver throws an elbow that misses. Song uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carver's guard. Nice move by Song!

Carver blocks a head kick by Song.
Carver shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Song as he jumps to the side.
Song tries to clinch but Carver is having none of it.

and Carver counters with a two punch combo.
Song shoots for a double leg takedown but Carver sprawls well. He's pushed Song's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Song clinches up against the cage.
Song can't find room to land a body shot as Carver controls the action.
Carver has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Carver drags the fight down to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Song is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Carver throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carver controls Song momentarily but Song frees himself.
Carver will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Carver looking for a sweep. Not yet Carver, not yet.
Carver keeping full guard, as Song tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by bo Song.
No joy there for Carver, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Song will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
bo Song seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Song moves to clinch but Carver breaks away
and Carver counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Song shoots in for a takedown but Carver shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Alfonzo Carver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of bo Song.
Carver takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Song displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Alfonzo Carver has been cut.
Song dives in and grabs Carver's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carver pushes down on Song's head and hops out.
Song looks winded!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Song.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but bo Song will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Song moves into the clinch successfully.
Song goes for a takedown in the clinch but Carver prevents it.

Carver pulls guard effortlessly.

Carver has his foot on Song's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Song works his way back into a safe position though.
Song stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carver swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Carver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Song is controlling him.

Song shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Carver counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Alfonzo Carver is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Alfonzo Carver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of bo Song.

Song tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carver swivels and escapes.
Song is breathing heavily.
Carver tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Song defends well and Carver ends up having to push Song into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Carver looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Carver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Song doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Song manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Song wanted to stand there but Carver had control of the position.

Song wants to stand and escape but instead Carver has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Song has Carver pulled in close to control his posture.
Carver is looking to work some ground and pound but Song has wrist control.
Song is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Song preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carver accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Carver lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Carver throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Song works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Song doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Song is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Carver's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Carver is in close to Song's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Alfonzo Carver overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Song not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Song is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Carver presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carver escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Song gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Song content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Carver has locked up a guillotine! Carver's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Song is holding on here and Carver must be using up a lot of energy. Song has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Carver gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Alfonzo Carver!
