Connell comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ain't No Sunshine kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ian Connell has the better chin. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Magnus Svensson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ian Connell!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connell jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Svensson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Svensson lands a high kick!


It looks like Ian Connell has been cut.
Svensson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A head kick misses from Svensson.
Svensson delivers a nice body kick.
We've been told by Svensson's head coaches at Bricktop's House of Hard Knocks that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Connell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Svensson connects with a leg kick. Connell looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Svensson lands a nice looking body kick.
A head kick misses from Svensson.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Connell crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Svensson - the referee stops the clock and Connell gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Svensson. Connell manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Svensson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Connell throws out the jab.

Connell is looking to clinch but Svensson is avoiding it.
Connell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Svensson moves away.

and Svensson counters with an outside leg kick.
Connell bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Svensson's head.
Nice body kick from Svensson.
Connell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Svensson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Connell looks to land a right hand but Svensson moved out of range.
Connell misses with a looping right.
Svensson lands a nice looking body kick.
Connell takes a swing at Svensson's ribcage but misses.
Connell moves to clinch but Svensson breaks away
and Svensson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ian Connell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Svensson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Svensson works the jab nicely.

Connell takes one on the button.
Connell throws a hook to the side of Svensson's head but Svensson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A jab from Svensson does it's job there.
Connell thows a left - swing and a miss!
Connell throws a shot from downtown. Svensson moves away and avoids it.
Connell wants to clinch up but Svensson keeps it at a distance.
Connell avoids the head kick by Svensson.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Svensson.
Connell just misses with a punch to the body.
Svensson lands a leg kick that knocks Connell off balance momentarily.
Connell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Svensson was well out of range. Poor timing from Connell.
Svensson is looking to land body kicks.
Svensson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Svensson throws a front kick that sends Connell stumbling back into the cage.
Connell avoids a kick to the body.
Connell misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Svensson counters with a stiff right hand.
Svensson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Svensson throws a sloppy head kick
and Connell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A good leg kick by Svensson.
Svensson scores with a head kick. Connell tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


Connell is rocked!
Svensson feints a jab and as Connell dips his head, Svensson unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Connell right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Connell falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Svensson smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Magnus Svensson!
Our winner, Magnus Svensson, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
