PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rauli Raunio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seifer Almasy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Almasy has chosen The Black Mages - Force Your Way as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Seifer Almasy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raunio waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Almasy.
A looping hook to the body misses from Raunio. Almasy does a little dance to reset his feet.
Raunio fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Almasy on the side of the head.
Raunio misses the shot to the body.
Raunio looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Almasy tries to close the distance and clinch but Raunio swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rauli Raunio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Raunio throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Almasy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Raunio lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Raunio connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Almasy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Raunio throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Almasy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Raunio is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Almasy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Raunio.

Almasy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Raunio paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Raunio manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Almasy tries to hold on but Raunio pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Almasy looks to clinch
enabling Raunio to counter with a crisp jab.
Raunio throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Raunio misses the jab.
Almasy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Raunio's waist but Raunio gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Almasy off to one side.
Raunio swings for the body but Almasy moves out of range.
Raunio lands with a straight right. Almasy didn't see that one coming.
Raunio swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Almasy.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Raunio fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Almasy manages to avoid it.
Raunio displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Almasy.
Rauli Raunio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Seifer Almasy.

Almasy lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Raunio works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Raunio dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Raunio drops Almasy with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Almasy looks back up at him and smiles so Raunio waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Seifer Almasy has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Raunio cracks Almasy on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Almasy falls backwards against the cage. Raunio follows up with more strikes that drop Almasy to his knees. Raunio keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Almasy! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rauli Raunio!
A relieved looking Rauli Raunio thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
