These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bangs looks to land a right hand but Issa moved out of range.
Issa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Bangs shoots in and gets a takedown into Issa's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Bangs stays in close to Issa's body and controls the position.
Bangs throwing strikes from guard but Issa blocks nicely.
Bangs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

My spies in Sun Ra and his Arkestra's training camp inform me that Bangs has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
