The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lomax closes the distance but Todd moves to the side

and Todd counters by moving into the clinch.
Todd blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Lomax looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Todd jumps into guard, dragging Lomax to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Lomax really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Todd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lomax stopping the sweep attempt from Todd.
Lomax wants to stand and escape but instead Todd has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Todd drops back looking for a leg! Lomax is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lomax manages to kick Todd off! Todd jumps back into Lomax's guard.

Todd decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lomax throws a nice looking combination but Todd bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lomax lands a left and a right that sends Todd crashing to the canvas! Lomax dives into mount looking to finish!

Todd is rocked!

It looks like Kieth Todd has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lomax tries to control but Todd wriggling away.
Oh Todd is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lomax stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Lomax moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Todd! Lomax continues to tee off on Todd, landing with a left and a right! Lomax connects with a right hand that leaves Todd sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Lomax!
