Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Magomed Magomedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip Irwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Philip Irwin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irwin slaps away a takedown attempt from Magomedov, before circling back to the center of the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Magomedov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Magomedov is looking to work some ground and pound but Irwin has wrist control.
Magomedov wants to control from the top but Irwin keeps moving.
Magomedov postures up in Irwin's guard and throws a big left but Irwin blocks it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Irwin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Irwin is trying to control the position but Magomedov postures up.

Magomedov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Irwin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Magomedov shoots in looking for a takedown but Irwin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Magomedov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Irwin ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Magomed Magomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Irwin! Magomedov is out on his feet! Irwin rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Magomedov is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Magomedov is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
