Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Boma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Federico Manta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boma comes to the cage accompanied by Andrew and Wada Blood - Irie. Manta has chosen Ultima Corsa by Mondo Marcio as his entrance music. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Boma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Federico Manta!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manta with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Boma uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Manta.
Boma avoids the body shot from Manta.
Manta throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've been told by Boma's head coaches at LOD: GRITTY'S ELITE KILLAS that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Manta paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Manta misses the shot to the body.
Manta lands with a hook. Boma tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Manta bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Boma's head backwards.
Manta scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Boma keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Manta throws a one two combo.
Manta pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Boma moves away from the strike by Manta.
A slapping leg kick lands for Boma.
Manta paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nice uppercut lands for Manta. That snapped Boma's head back.
Manta misses with a wild body shot.
Boma misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Boma takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Boma gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Boma on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Boma takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Manta throws the left hand but Boma avoids the punch easily.

Manta moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Boma walks into a straight right hand from Manta.
Manta thows a left - swing and a miss!
Manta tries to score with a low kick but Boma moves his leg out of the way.
Boma ducks under a wild hook from Manta.
Manta uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Boma.
Manta jabs Boma to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Boma on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Manta is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Boma had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Manta shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Manta lands a jab to Boma's midsection.

and Boma counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Manta scores with a jab. Boma acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Manta catches Boma with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boma throws a sloppy head kick and Manta moves out of range easily.

Manta swings away with a body shot that misses

and Boma counters with a crisp one two that drops Manta! Boma thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Manta to his feet! Manta is in big trouble!


Manta is rocked!
Manta fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jab, jab by Manta - just one landing.
Boma throws an overhand right that lands on Manta's shoulder, as Manta tries to avoid the shot.
Manta swinging wildly here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Federico Manta dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sloppy strikes from Manta. Those never looked like landing.
Boma takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Manta throws a hook to the side of Boma's head but Boma sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Manta fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boma manages to avoid it.

Manta thuds his right hand into Boma's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Manta has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Manta connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Boma momentarily.

Manta ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Federico Manta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Manta tries to land a front kick but Boma steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Manta fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Boma looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Manta lands a nice looking kick to the body. Boma takes a step back to recover.
Manta changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Boma takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Boma chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Manta can pounce on him.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Manta - that will leave a mark!

and Boma counters with a nice low kick that buckles Manta's knee momentarily.
Manta tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boma was well out of range. Poor timing from Manta.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Manta does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Federico Manta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

and Manta takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Manta throws a jab when Boma was well out of range.
Boma sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Manta throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Manta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Oscar Boma has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Federico Manta is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A left lands for Manta.
Manta throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Boma stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Manta misses the shot to the body.
Manta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Boma misses with an uppercut. Manta saw that one coming.

and Manta counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Boma's guard now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Manta pushes down on Boma's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Manta is stalling here. Boma is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Manta seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Boma has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Manta sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Boma wants to take a breather but Manta is having none of it.
Manta makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Manta.
Manta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Boma is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Manta controls Boma momentarily but Boma frees himself.

Manta is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boma defends well.

Manta has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boma can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Manta looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Boma wants to control from the top but Manta keeps moving.
Manta wants to sweep here but Boma controlling him for the moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Manta is trying to hold Boma in close to prevent damage but Boma has managed to pass into half guard.
Manta is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Federico Manta comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Manta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
