PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Homer Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Rekis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rekis has chosen AC/DC - Thunderstruck as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simpson moves into the clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Rekis obliges.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rekis has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Rekis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Simpson holds on and takes a little breather.

Simpson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rekis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rekis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rekis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simpson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Homer Simpson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Rekis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Simpson's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Simpson is on top in guard.

Rekis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Simpson manages to get himself to full guard.

Simpson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rekis throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Simpson's body to avoid the submission. Simpson has instead reached around Rekis's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Simpson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Homer Simpson tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
John Rekis was interviewed post fight and said 'I'll be back!!!'.
