PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robert Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brizenick Chagaus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brizenick Chagaus told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Johnson.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Chagaus moves out of range.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fight stays on the outside here - Chagaus looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Chagaus!

Johnson wants to finish this one by submission but Chagaus is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Johnson.

Chagaus has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Johnson regains guard immediately.

Chagaus is nestled in close to Johnson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Chagaus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Johnson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Chagaus.

and Johnson counters with a three punch combo that has Chagaus backing up. Chagaus nods at Johnson to acknowledge the strikes.

and Johnson counters with a series of strikes. Chagaus will be more careful next time no doubt.
Johnson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Robert Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brizenick Chagaus.

That was a close round but I would say that Robert Johnson will probably get the nod.
