Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Takeshi Kurosawa!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Copeland shoots in and bounces Kurosawa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Copeland stands and throws Kurosawa's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kurosawa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Copeland. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Copeland happy to just control the position for now.

Copeland working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Copeland has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Kurosawa tries to lock up and control but Copeland gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Copeland throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Kurosawa has his hands clasped together but Copeland breaks the hold and Kurosawa is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Copeland!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Butch Copeland!
In his post fight interview, Butch Copeland started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
