Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernandes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Fernandes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fernandes. Lachida does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Fernandes. No joy for Lachida on that attempt.
Fernandes slaps away a takedown attempt from Lachida, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Raf Fernandes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Myoto Lachida.
Lachida takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Fernandes throws a body punch but Lachida moves out of range.
Lachida throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fernandes's waist but Fernandes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lachida off to one side.
Fernandes jabs Lachida to the body, keeping him at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lachida tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fernandes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lachida somewhat.
Fernandes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lachida shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fernandes pinned against the cage. Fernandes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lachida has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Fernandes uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Fernandes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fernandes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nice defenses there by Lachida.
Lachida keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

The fighters circle momentarily. Fernandes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Fernandes feints with a jab and clips Lachida right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Lachida is sent crashing into the canvas and Fernandes leaps in for the kill! Lachida tries to get to his feet but Fernandes is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Lachida is in need of a savior and steps in!
