The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buenavista tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. DiMa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Buenavista fails with an attempt to clinch.
Buenavista shoots in for a takedown but DiMa shows good takedown defense.
DiMa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Buenavista takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Buenavista takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nich DiMa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Buenavista moves in looking to clinch but DiMa pushes him off.
DiMa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Buenavista.
Buenavista doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Buenavista takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
DiMa misses with a few strikes there.

DiMa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Buenavista takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

DiMa drops Buenavista with a left and a right! Oh, Buenavista is hurt - DiMa dives into side control looking to finish!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

DiMa fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Oh Buenavista is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Buenavista leaves his chin hanging out and DiMa seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Buenavista crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
