PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sumi Gaeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Bramley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gaeshi comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the Jungle. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bramley on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Bramley looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Bramley drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Gaeshi has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bramley off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Bramley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gaeshi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gaeshi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bramley to the mat! Bramley manages to get full guard.
Bramley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gaeshi manages to get himself to full guard.

Gaeshi is nestled in close to Bramley, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gaeshi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gaeshi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

and Gaeshi finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Sumi Gaeshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Bramley.

Bramley is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gaeshi is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bramley to the mat. Bramley regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Bramley is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Gaeshi has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Bramley has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Gaeshi taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Bramley doesn't care though - he's delighted!
