The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calvancante swats away the attempt to clinch by Moraes.
Moraes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Moraes tries to close the distance and clinch but Calvancante swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Moraes clinches up with Calvancante and pushes him back against the cage.
Calvancante takes an elbow to the forehead.
Calvancante takes an elbow to the temple.
Still in the clinch, Moraes scores with a nice short uppercut.
Moraes lands with a short shot to the head.

Calvancante drags the fight down to the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Calvancante is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Moraes trying to control the position from guard on top but Calvancante is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Calvancante escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Moraes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Moraes is pushing down on Calvancante's leg trying to pass to half guard. Calvancante is fighting to maintain full guard but Moraes has managed to sneak the leg through.

Moraes is looking to advance position but Calvancante won't allow it.

Moraes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Calvancante does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sergio Moraes wasn't active enough on the ground.
Calvancante fails to land with a series of punches.
Moraes tries to close the distance and clinch but Calvancante swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Calvancante closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Moraes to the mat! Moraes manages to get full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Calvancante drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Moraes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Calvancante has Moraes in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calvancante bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Moraes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Calvancante wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Calvancante throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Moraes has his hands clasped together but Calvancante breaks the hold and Moraes is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Calvancante!
