The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Blumpkin moves out of range as Hart throws a body kick.

Blumpkin gets tackled into the cage by Hart. Hart maintains the clinch.
Hart is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Blumpkin is defending well.
Blumpkin stops a takedown attempt from Hart.
Hart drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Blumpkin gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Blumpkin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Blumpkin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hart is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Blumpkin asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Blumpkin will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hart closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Blumpkin did well to prevent Hart getting side control.

Hart has hold of Blumpkin's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Blumpkin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hart lands a big shot there that rocks Blumpkin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
