PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Rude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isamu Natsuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rude comes to the cage accompanied by Gunslinger. Dominic Rude could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Isamu Natsuki's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dominic Rude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 14 - 2, fighting out of New York, Isamu Natsuki!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rude tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Natsuki. Rude does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rude ducks under a wild hook from Natsuki.
Nice defenses there by Rude.
Rude shoots in looking for a takedown. Natsuki tries to sprawl out of it but Rude keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Natsuki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Natsuki shoots in but no luck this time.
Natsuki looks to land a left hand but Rude moved out of range nicely.
Rude looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Natsuki is fending him off so far but Rude persists. Nope, Natsuki circles away and we're back to standing.

Rude tries to free his leg and advance position but Natsuki is retaining full guard.

Natsuki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rude can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rude has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Natsuki is proving hard to escape from.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dominic Rude.
Rude digs a good body shot into Natsuki's ribs.
Rude avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Isamu Natsuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rude throws a nice inside leg kick.
Natsuki shoots for a double leg takedown but Rude sprawls well. He's pushed Natsuki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Rude moves out of range of the strikes.
Natsuki loads up on a big right hand but Rude slips the punch.
Natsuki on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Rude connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Rude moves into range and connects with a jab.
Natsuki misses with a wild body shot.
Natsuki throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rude on the side of the head.
A chopping leg kick lands by Natsuki.

and Rude connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Natsuki swings for the body but Rude moves out of range.

and Rude counters with a slapping leg kick.
Good exchange - Natsuki coming out on top.
Natsuki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rude fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominic Rude. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Natsuki.
Natsuki swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rude doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Rude lands a head kick!
Natsuki scores with a nice head shot.
Rude lands a nice shot that snaps Natsuki's head back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rude avoids the head kick by Natsuki.
Rude uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Natsuki.
Rude displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Natsuki throws out the jab.
Natsuki throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dominic Rude will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Natsuki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Rude is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Natsuki.
Natsuki pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rude gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Natsuki jabs at Rude's body.

Natsuki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rude is fending him off so far but Natsuki persists. Nope, Rude circles away and we're back to standing.

Rude takes a swing at Natsuki's ribcage but misses.

Natsuki fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rude on the side of the head.
Natsuki throws a hook to the side of Rude's head but Rude sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Rude makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Natsuki drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rude wants to stand up but Natsuki is controlling him.
Rude is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Rude is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rude is pulling down on Natsuki's head to control his posture.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rude loads up on a big right hand but Natsuki slips the punch.

Rude swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Natsuki.
Rude keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dominic Rude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isamu Natsuki.
Rude cracks a nice hook into Natsuki's ribs.
Natsuki goes for a double leg but Rude avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rude continues to drive forward.

Rude tries to throw a body punch but Natsuki avoids it by throwing Rude back against the cage.

Rude lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Natsuki or not.

Rude working hard to break the clinch.
Rude misses with a punch to the body.
Rude lands a hook that snaps the head of Natsuki backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rude escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

letting Natsuki counter with a right hand.
Rude ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Natsuki just misses with a punch to the body.
Natsuki throws a leg kick but Rude checks it.
Natsuki darts in looking for a takedown but Rude gets double underhooks and turns Natsuki into the cage.
Our sources have told us that Rude has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rude swings wildly with an uppercut but Natsuki uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rude tries to stall but Natsuki uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Isamu Natsuki will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Natsuki misses with a hook. Rude ducked under it nicely.
Natsuki misses with a low kick as Rude jumps back.

Rude lands a jab to the head.
Natsuki looks to score with a jab to the body but Rude is just out of range.

Natsuki throws an overhand right that lands on Rude's shoulder, as Rude tries to avoid the shot.
Natsuki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Natsuki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rude scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Rude changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Natsuki looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Natsuki tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Rude tries to move to mount but Natsuki blocks the move with his legs.
Natsuki is looking to reverse the position.

Rude misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Rude tries to stand but Natsuki is controlling his head.
Natsuki tries to bench press Rude off him but Rude keeps the position.

Rude tries to move to mount but Natsuki blocks the move with his legs.
Natsuki sneaks back into half guard.

Natsuki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Rude wants to take a breather but Natsuki is having none of it.
Rude not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Natsuki manages to get to full guard.
Rude postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Natsuki keeping moving, preventing Rude from controlling successfully.
Natsuki controls Rude momentarily but Rude frees himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dominic Rude showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Rude has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
