The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chapel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Chapel showed some decent athleticism there.

Chapel is looking for a kimura but Roberto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chapel to get the leverage.

Chapel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Roberto defends it well.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chapel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Roberto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chapel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Roberto had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chapel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Roberto Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chapel's back instead.
