Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mcgrath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Altschuler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgrath comes to the cage accompanied by 50 cent feat. Akon - I'll still kill. Altschuler has chosen Extreme Ways - Moby as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Altschuler!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Altschuler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mcgrath as he jumps to the side.
Altschuler closes the distance and clinches up with Mcgrath, looking for a takedown. Altschuler pushes Mcgrath against the cage but Mcgrath circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mcgrath throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Matthew Altschuler has been cut.

Altschuler gets the takedown into side control.
Mcgrath is trying to get back to his feet.

Altschuler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcgrath knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mcgrath throws Altschuler to one side and escapes!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Altschuler blocks a head kick by Mcgrath.

Mcgrath stuffs the takedown.
Frank Mcgrath has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Altschuler.

Altschuler closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Altschuler lands in his opponent's guard.

Mcgrath throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Altschuler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mcgrath as he jumps to the side.

Nice takedown defense from Mcgrath. No joy for Altschuler on that attempt.
Mcgrath attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Altschuler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mcgrath controls Altschuler momentarily but Altschuler frees himself.
Mcgrath is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Altschuler is controlling him.
Mcgrath looking for a sweep. Not yet Mcgrath, not yet.

Mcgrath pushes Altschuler off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Altschuler fails with the takedown.
Mcgrath misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mcgrath throws a sloppy head kick and Altschuler moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Mcgrath will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Matthew Altschuler's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Altschuler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mcgrath as he jumps to the side.

Mcgrath has managed to clinch.
Mcgrath with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Mcgrath gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Altschuler.
Frank Mcgrath has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Altschuler.

Mcgrath breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Altschuler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mcgrath swivels and escapes.
Altschuler is breathing heavily.
Mcgrath misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Altschuler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mcgrath swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A good leg kick by Mcgrath.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Mcgrath here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Altschuler tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Mcgrath moves into the clinch.

Mcgrath breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Matthew Altschuler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Mcgrath counters with a head kick from the bowels of hell that crumples Altschuler! This one is all over!
