Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Pato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Metcalf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Metcalf has chosen "Highway to the Danger Zone," by Kenny Loggins as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Pato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Metcalf!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pato has a takedown stuffed.
Pato walks into a left hand.
Metcalf throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Pato keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Metcalf.

Metcalf gets caught flat footed, as Pato shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Metcalf wants to sweep but no luck.
Pato prevents Metcalf from getting back to his feet.

Pato thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pato wants to pass the guard but Metcalf is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pato is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Metcalf is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Metcalf has escaped and now he's on top!

Pato has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Metcalf can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Metcalf trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pato controls Metcalf momentarily but Metcalf frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Metcalf wants to stand but Pato is controlling his posture from full guard.
Metcalf must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pato is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Metcalf passes Pato's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pato trying to control but Metcalf postures up.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Metcalf is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pato is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.
Pato makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pato.
Metcalf won't allow Pato to sweep him here.
Metcalf trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pato's guard.
Metcalf stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pato swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pato throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Pato is trying to keep Metcalf in close.
Pato keeping moving, preventing Metcalf from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pato fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pato takes a shot to the body in his stride.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Metcalf dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Metcalf throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Metcalf scores with a punch to the head.
Alex Pato is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Metcalf lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Metcalf lands a big shot that drops Pato! Can he finish him?


Pato is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Metcalf stands up and waves to Pato to follow him.
Metcalf fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Pato to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Pato looks to clinch but Metcalf throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Pato taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Mike Metcalf!
