The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Franklyn with that takedown attempt.

and Couture counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Couture.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Couture is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Franklyn looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Randy Couture wasn't doing enough on the ground.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Couture is working Franklyn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Franklyn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Couture manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Franklyn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Franklyn is fighting to break Couture's control of his arms but Couture is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Couture wants to sweep but no luck.
Couture seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Couture had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Franklyn defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Franklyn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Couture takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Couture seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Franklyn is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
