The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettor takes one to the side of the head.
Pettor throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Van Rijn stuns Pettor with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Pettor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Pettor rushes Van Rijn and presses him up against the cage.
Van Rijn lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Pettor pulls guard.
Pettor tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Van Rijn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Van Rijn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pettor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Van Rijn has managed to get both his arms back between Pettor's legs - danger averted.
Van Rijn controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rembrandt Van Rijn.

Pettor fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Van Rijn, pushing him back against the cage.
Van Rijn lands a right hand.
Pettor fails to pull guard.
Van Rijn controlling the action here for a moment.
Pettor's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Pettor jumps guard but Van Rijn turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Martin Pettor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Van Rijn stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Pettor is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Pettor is breathing heavily.
Van Rijn pushes Pettor back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
