The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meer throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A cross from Meer lands.
Meer takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Meer connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The fighters circle momentarily. Meer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Osvaldo Floyd has been cut.
Meer throws a right and a left that Floyd avoids nicely.
Floyd tries to move into range but Meer moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Floyd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Meer throws an overhand right that lands on Floyd's shoulder, as Floyd tries to avoid the shot.
Floyd pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Meer lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Floyd shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Meer but Meer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Floyd gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Meer lands a jab to the nose.
Meer is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Meer thows a left - swing and a miss!
Alex Meer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Meer throws a good cross that connects.

Floyd is rocked!
Meer walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Floyd drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Meer swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Floyd's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
