Taylor closes the distance and clinches.

Taylor turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Taylor manages to end up in side control.
Patterson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Taylor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Patterson is working hard here to advance position.

Taylor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Patterson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
