PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Fon Gadov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Tommy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Tommy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Tommy !
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fon Gadov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fon Gadov lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Tommy wants to sweep but no luck.
Tommy keeping moving, preventing Fon Gadov from controlling successfully.

Tommy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fon Gadov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tommy lands a decent shot there.

Tommy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tommy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fon Gadov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tommy is keeping the position for now.
Tommy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Tommy not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Tommy works his foot free and advances to mount.
Fon Gadov sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Tommy missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Fon Gadov tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fon Gadov wants to control but Tommy is having none of it.
Fon Gadov is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Tommy looking to isolate an arm here. Fon Gadov doesn't see it coming and as Tommy extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Tommy !
