Briggs comes to the cage accompanied by Crawl - Childish Gambino. Jax Briggs had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Riki Machida!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs slips a jab from Machida.
Machida tries to clinch up but Briggs circles away and keeps his distance.
A punch combination from Briggs misses.
Briggs lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Machida will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Machida tries to close the distance and clinch but Briggs swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Machida gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Machida presses Briggs against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A body shot lands from Machida.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Machida lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Briggs backwards.
It looks like Jax Briggs has been cut.
Machida scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Machida is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Machida makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Briggs looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Machida keeps control of Briggs as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Machida creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Briggs is rocked!
Machida pushes Briggs against the cage. Machida is working some dirty boxing. Machida pushes off with a quick right hook! Briggs goes down! Briggs tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Machida moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Riki Machida!
