Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pete Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Veijamo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veijamo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Alexander on the side of the head.
Alexander shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Veijamo defends it nicely.
Alexander tries for a takedown but Veijamo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Oooooh!!! Veijamo has knocked Alexander down with a huge combo! Veijamo steps away and waves a wobbly Alexander back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Pete Alexander has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alexander closes the distance and clinches up with Veijamo, looking for a takedown. Alexander pushes Veijamo against the cage but Veijamo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pete Alexander. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Veijamo moves in looking to clinch but Alexander pushes him off.
Veijamo connects with a single shot there.
Veijamo drops Alexander with a beautiful combination! Alexander stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Veijamo is looking for the KO!

Alexander shoots in for a takedown but Veijamo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Oh Alexander is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Veijamo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Veijamo wants it to stay on the feet.
Alexander shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Veijamo defends it nicely.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Alexander. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Veijamo misses with a double jab.
Alexander looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
No joy there for Veijamo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Alexander shoots in looking for a takedown but Veijamo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alexander's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Alexander throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Veijamo's waist but Veijamo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alexander off to one side.

Alexander has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Veijamo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Veijamo throws a nice looking combination but Alexander bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Alexander shoots in for a takedown but Veijamo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Veijamo fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Veijamo gets caught flat footed, as Alexander shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Alexander stands up over Veijamo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Alexander is looking to work some ground and pound but Veijamo has wrist control.

Alexander drops back, looking for a kneebar! Veijamo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Veijamo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Veijamo!

Alexander makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Alexander.
Alexander is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Veijamo is aware though and is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alexander wants to sweep but no luck.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Alexander escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Veijamo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Alexander pushes a forearm under Veijamo's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Veijamo is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
