Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Flavio Malegarie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Maldonado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malegarie has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Flavio Malegarie looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Malegarie scores with a takedown into Maldonado's guard.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Malegarie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Maldonado trying to keep a closed guard but Malegarie is proving a slippery customer.

Maldonado working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Malegarie has passed into half guard!

Maldonado decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malegarie has one foot on Maldonado's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Maldonado fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Malegarie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Malegarie drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Malegarie seems to have locked his on tight now - Maldonado screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Malegarie, as he picks up the win!
