Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cletus Landry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Landry has chosen country boy as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landry fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jenkins on the side of the head.

It looks like Jesse Jenkins has been cut.
Landry tries a low kick but Jenkins avoids it.
Landry throws a hook but Jenkins blocks it.
Landry fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Jenkins tries to keep at a distance but Landry has taken the fight into the clinch.
Landry lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Jenkins is rocked!
Jenkins pushes off an throws an elbow but Landry leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Oh Jenkins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jenkins is trying to trip Landry. He has hold of a leg but Landry is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jenkins persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

We've been hearing reports that Jenkins has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Jenkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Landry.
Jenkins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Landry manages to avoid it.
Landry rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jenkins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jenkins is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Landry.
Landry lands a head kick. Jenkins smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Jenkins closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Landry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jenkins moves away.

Landry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jenkins on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Jenkins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Landry will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jenkins scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jenkins has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Landry finds it's way round the side to connect with Jenkins's head.
Jenkins lands with a hook. Landry tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Landry scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
