Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heath Hines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Garrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Heath Hines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Garrett!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garrett shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hines pinned against the cage. Hines gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hines looks for a takedown but Garrett sprawls well.

Garrett darts in and clinches Hines up against the cage.
Garrett is trying to break free.

Garrett prevents a takedown attempt there.

Hines escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Garrett gets a clinch.

Hines has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Garrett regains guard immediately.
Hines has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Garrett had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hines defends it easily.
Hines wants to stand but Garrett is controlling his posture from full guard.

Garrett has his foot on Hines's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hines works his way back into a safe position though.

Hines could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hines not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Hines gets to his feet - Garrett follows without any prompting.

Garrett shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hines as he avoids it easily.

It looks like Heath Hines has been cut.
David Garrett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Garrett dives in for a single leg takedown but Hines sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Garrett jumps guard and drags Hines to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Garrett seems keen to control Hines's posture.
Hines looking to sit in guard and control but Garrett gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A close round but David Garrett will probably get the nod.

That's time! Hines's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Garrett feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hiness jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Horrible takedown by Garrett or perhaps it was just good defense by Hines which made him look bad.
Garrett is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hines sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Hines stuffs the takedown attempt from Garrett. Garrett gets slowly back to his feet.
Hines tries to clinch but Garrett moves out of range.

Garrett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Garrett pushes Hines off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

David Garrett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Garrett is defended easily by Hines.

Hines changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garrett tries to avoid it but Hines manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garrett to the ground. Garrett escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hines wants to get up but he can't break Garrett's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Heath Hines has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
David Garrett is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hines wants to stand and escape but instead Garrett has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

David Garrett comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Garrett has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
