Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trey Anastasio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Hoffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anastasio's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Tweezer. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Hoffer as Anastasio shoots in.
Anastasio moves forwards but Hoffer connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Anastasio pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoffer throws a hook but Anastasio blocks it.
Nice straight punches there by Hoffer. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hoffer.

Hoffer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Anastasio manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Anastasio controls Hoffer momentarily but Hoffer frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

My spies in Montreal Fighter's Gym inform me that Hoffer has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Hoffer stands up over Anastasio, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Anastasio is looking for a triangle here but Hoffer uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hoffer cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Anastasio is desperately trying to improve his position but Hoffer has a good base and remains in mount.
Hoffer cracks Anastasio with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Anastasio is squirming around, avoiding Hoffer's attempts to control the action.

A big strike lands for Hoffer! That's really hurt Anastasio and he's turned his back - Hoffer keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Hoffer jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
