The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanegi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Black manages to avoid it.
Black fails in his attempt to clinch.
Black takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kanegi connects with a right hand. Black shakes it off.

Black drives through with a takedown into Kanegi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Black drops back looking for a leg! Kanegi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kanegi manages to kick Black off! Black jumps back into Kanegi's guard.
Black won't allow Kanegi to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kanegi is on top in guard.
Kanegi chips away with some ground and pound.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kanegi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
